Long-Term Care Facilities, Support Institutions, and Healthcare Providers, etc.

 

If my facility/company need trained and/or licensed personnel what do I do?

 

* Long-Term Care Facilities?

  •     contact our office and speak with the Training Advisor to have a CNA Class scheduled - to staff your facility- in your city/town. Our training advisor will schedule a licensed nurse to arrive at your facility or the place of training ready and prepared. Please Note: Ten (10) participants are required to have a training session.

 

* Hospitals?

  •    contact our office and speak with the Training Advisor to have a MSA Class (CNA-Phlebotomist-EKG Technician) or additional training scheduled for your staff.

 

* Doctor's Offices?

  •    contact our office and speak with the Training Advisor to schedule staff members to receive additional training in any of our training sessions. Remember, your staff can become nationally certified!

 

* Home Health Agencies?

  •    contact our office and speak with the Training Advisor to have a Home Health Class scheduled in your city/town. Please Note:Ten (10) participants are required to have a training session.

 

* Laboratories?

  •    contact our office and speak with the Training Advisor to schedule a One-day Phlebotomy Workshop. Your staff can become nationally certified!

Remember, we train according to industry need.

In addition to land-based training sessions our program developer and training advisor will travel to your place of business - develop and provide course materials specific to your staff needs.

What are "Letters of Intent?"

  • Letters of Intent are support forms signed by the Administrator of a medicaid approved facility that allows re-imbursement from Medicaid (thru OLTC) for training and certification of nursing assistant employees.

How are payments made to American College for the training cost of the student/employee sent from the facility or company?

  • In order for American College to accept Letters of Intent from participating Long-Term Care Facilities - the following must be met:

           1) Service Contract Agreement must signed by Corporate Officer or Nursing

               Home Administrator to ensure that Reimbursement Claim Form(DMS-755)

               will be completed and mailed to the Office of Long Term Care at the appropriate time.

               PLEASE FORWARD IMMEDIATELY.

           2) Criminal Background Check must be completed and forwarded to ACHS

               prior to the first day of training. Students can not participate without copy of background

               check on file. NO EXCEPTIONS

           3) Letter of Intent must be completed and forwarded to ACHS prior

               to the first day of training. Students can not participate without Letter of Intent on file.

               NO EXCEPTIONS

            4) A list of *eligible student(s) must be submitted prior to training session with

                all required documents. *Eligible students are those that do not have a criminal   

                background and have not used a letter of intent in the past. Registry will be

                checked for eligibility.

  • ACHS require a registration fee of $125.00 - to be paid prior to start of session.

Can my Medicaid approved facility pay for the training and get the training cost re-imbursed to them?

  • Yes. Medicaid approved facilities can complete Form DMS-755 and forward it to OLTC and they will receive the re-imbursed funds for the training/certification of their employees.

         

What if my facility or nursing home do not have ten trainees/students available for sign-up?

  • We encourage facilities and nursing homes to participate in a joint effort of

           training by combining applicants with a 'sister facility' to meet the

           ten persons minimum.

Who do I contact to get class dates or schedule a class for my facility?

  • Please contact Ms.Thomas or Johnson at (501) 733-8107 or (501) 327-6999.

Can other Support Institutions, such as DHS / TEA, Ar Rehab, etc., send clients to your college?

  • Yes.  Arkansas Department of Human Services/TEA - Arkansas Rehabilitation Services - Ar Area on Aging - Ar Workforce, Hospitals - Doctor's Offices - Home Health Agencies - Laboratories, etc. - should contact our office to request an invoice for the payment amount to be forwarded - prior to signing up for training sessions. Cashier's/Company Checks/Credit Cards are accepted upon verification/approval.

Will graduates be eligible to apply for the State and/or National Exam(s)?

  • Yes. Upon completion of the course graduates will receive a certificate of completion and assistance with the application process.

Can participants receive and use the awarded Contact Hours toward renewal of their licenses?

  • Yes. Upon completion of the training sessions graduates will receive a certificate indicating the numbers of contact hours awarded from STAT II - the Continue Education Division of American College. Click on Contact Hours / Continual Education clink above.

How long does it take to get a class set up in my town or at my facility?

  • American College have packed their bags and are ready to assist you. Often, classes are scheduled to begin in as little as two (2) weeks. Advertisement may be necessary for the success you deserve.

Will the Trainers come to my town or facility to train my staff how to draw blood and become phlebotomists, too?

  • Yes.  We are prepared to be your training institute. Call us and we will schedule your training class. Please note: At least five (5) participants are required to have a One-Day Phlebotomy Workshop.

              * You can become Nationally Certified *

Will the Trainers come to my town or facility to do In-Services, CPR, etc.?

  • Yes. Call us and we will schedule your training class. Please note: Most sessions/workshops have a mininum participant requirement of ten (10).
